18 Aug Saskatchewan Voters Divided in Upcoming Federal Election
A new independent Insightrix Research online poll finds Saskatchewan voters are presently split at the early stages of the Federal Election campaign.
Presently, 39% of decided Saskatchewan voters state they would cast their ballot for the Conservative Party of Canada, while a similar proportion (35%) would vote for Canada’s NDP, if the federal election were held today. Another 21% would vote for the Liberal Party of Canada and 5% for the Green Party of Canada.
Demographically, males are more likely to say they would vote Conservative (43% vs. 34% among females) and likelihood of voting Conservative rises with age (31% among 18-34 year olds, 40% among 35-54 year olds and 44% among those aged 55 years or more). Regionally, Regina voters are more likely to vote Liberal when compared to other regions of the province (35% vs. 23% in Saskatoon and 15% in the remainder of the province).
Fully 93% of Saskatchewan residents say they intend to vote in the upcoming Federal Election on October 19th, 2015. Only 10% of those who intend to vote are currently unsure of the party for which they will vote.
A total of 801 randomly selected SaskWatch Research™ panel members participated in the online research study from August 11th to 13th, 2015. Quotas were set by age, gender, and region to match the general population of the province. Since the research is conducted online, it is considered to be a non- probability proportion sample and therefore, margins of error are not applicable.
